Urgent: Pack the Hearing to Defend Congress Heights Tenants!

On very short notice the D.C. Council has called a public roundtable hearing on "Protecting the Rights of Tenants at the Congress Heights Metro Station Development Project." It will take place this Thursday, February 4 at 5:00 p.m.. This is another significant victory for Congress Heights Tenants. The advocacy of the tenants and their supporters has led the Attorney General to launch a lawsuit targeting slum conditions, and now a Council hearing has been called by the Council Chair and the Chair of the Housing and Community Development Committee.

The tenants will be coming before the Council to fight for their rights. Will you be there to stand with them? We need to pack the hearing room to let the D.C. Council know that we won't tolerate slum conditions, and that we need real affordable housing solutions at Congress Heights and around the District.
