Justice First is supporting the People's Congress of Resistance this September at Howard University. The People's Congress will bring together grassroots organizations and individuals from around the country to build a broader pole of resistance to the reactionary Trump agenda and its enablers. Find below an announcement from the PCoR about a volunteer meeting here in Washington D.C.
Learn about the People's Congress of Resistance!
Join national organizers with the People's Congress of Resistance in a D.C. organizing meeting. Everyone can help spread the word and build for the first People's Congress of Resistance!
The United States Congress does not represent the people who live and work in the United States. Given the threat posed by the Trump regime, the people must take matters into our own hands, together, and claim the power we already have.
This will be a fighting Congress of the working class of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, genders, and ages. We must create a Congress of communities under attack by the reactionary Trump agenda and fighting back against it, a Congress of the grassroots and the working class, of resisters, organizers, and activists, of everyone who recognizes we can no longer continue as we have. Such a People’s Congress will confront the Congress of the millionaires. It will galvanize the energy of the many groups resisting Trump. It will demonstrate that this is what democracy looks like.
Attend the Saturday, August 12 Organizing Meeting to find out how you can get involved! Join a street outreach or phonebanking team, help build the endorsers list, fundraise to get people to the People's Congress in D.C. in September, and more!
