The TRUTH about Pepco

Pepco is ranked among the worst power providers in surveys of day-to-day reliability, yet during the last five years it has demanded and received a doubling of utility rates that people in Maryland and the entire DC area have had to pay.

Tell the D.C. Council: Schedule a hearing on a winter moratorium!

The warm weather has arrived in District of Columbia ... but we must be ready for next winter. That’s why we have to keep pushing the D.C. Council to hold a public hearing on Justice First’s proposed legislation "Winter Moratorium on Shutoffs of Heat Amendment Act of 2010."

Justice First’s Winter Moratorium legislation introduced in the D.C. Council!

Justice First is pleased to announce that D.C. Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr. of Ward 5 has introduced Justice First’s proposed legislation “Winter Moratorium on Shutoffs of Heat Amendment Act of 2010”! It was the work of all of us that has made this possible.

D.C. PSC approves Pepco rip-off

Despite over 2,000 letters to the D.C. Public Service Commission and D.C. Councilmembers vehemently opposing Pepco’s proposal for a $44.5 million rate hike and demanding a 50 percent rollback in rates, the Commission has approved a $19.8 million rate hike. Justice First holds that no rate hike is acceptable, not even so-called moderate ones.

Tell the PSC: Reject Pepco's $44.5 million rate hike

On Tuesday, March 2, the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia will be announcing its decision on Pepco’s outrageous request for a $44.5 million rate hike. This is your last chance to speak out against this outrageous rate hike request.
